Dan Mort is in his 5th year studying Medicine at Oxford University, and loves playing clarinet when he’s not in the hospital! He recently performed Copland’s Clarinet Concerto after winning the university’s annual concerto competition, and enjoys playing regularly with a range of student orchestral and chamber ensembles in Oxford. This year he has joined with the local professional Radcliffe Trio for several performances of Messaien’s Quartet for the End of Time around Oxfordshire. In 2014, he secured 2nd place in the Chandos Young Musician of the Year competition. He is an alumnus of NYO and CBSO Youth Orchestra. Dan also gigs regularly around Oxford as a funk drummer, which has the major perk of getting him into lots of posh parties and balls without the hefty price tag!
